This Sunday – Meditation: Why Bother?

miki soos logoCarolynJoin us this Sunday, November 24th, for Meditation: Why Bother? with Carolyn Morell.

Carolyn is a certified Hatha yoga instructor who has been teaching at the Buffalo branch of the Himalayan Institute since 2007. A twenty-year student of yoga, she has studied and practiced meditation in both yogic and Buddhist traditions.

We meet on Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m., ending with a potluck,  at our Environmental Sanctuary/Cottage, 3449 West River Road, Grand Island.

Carolyn says —

Each of us is a citizen of two worlds—an inner world of thoughts, emotions, and sensations, and an outer world, a universe with which we interact. For most of us, our energy is continually drawn outward as we pursue our to-do lists and our chosen goals. We rarely pause to turn inward. What is the purpose of meditation? How do we practice it, and how do we progress on this path? What does meditation have to do with social engagement? In our time together, we will explore and practice meditation from a variety of perspectives. Come taste meditative practice for yourself to answer the question, “Why bother?”
