We plan our weekly programs two months at a time.
During the school year, we meet from 4 to 6 p.m., with potluck after, at the Environmental Cottage. During July and August, we meet at 6 p.m. at the Cottage for a program and a potluck.
Directions from Buffalo: I-190 N over S Grand Island bridge to Exit 19, Whitehaven Road. Left/west on Whitehaven about 2.2 miles to West River Road. Right/north about 9/10 mile to 3449 West River Road, cabin in wooded area. Park along road.
During snow season, please park only on the side nearer to the river.

May 6 [WNY Area Meeting, 1 – 5 p.m., St. John’s UCC, Dunkirk, $8] – Finish re-chipping paths.
May 10 CEJ Annual Awards Ceremony (6-9 p.m.) is a unique and special opportunity to appreciate the contributions we all have made in our fights together for jobs with justice in Buffalo and Western New York. The dinner program, held at the Buffalo-Niagara Convention Center, is a night of drinks, dining, and entertainment. (josh@buffalojwj.org)
May 13 [Mother’s Day] DVD: “Vanishing of the Bees” chronicles the thoughts and feelings of beekeepers and scientists as they fight to preserve the honeybees, which have been disappearing (Colony Collapse Disorder), threatening the loss not only of honey but of the
one-third of the food on our table that depends on their pollination.
May 20 Louisa Pacheco will talk to us about the campaign to raise the minimum wage in New York (from $7.25/hour to $8.50/hour). Louisa is the organizer for VOICE-Buffalo, which is working with PUSH-Buffalo, CEJ (Coalition for Economic Justice) and others on this
campaign.
