Sunday, 21April13 – Native plants w/Ken Parker

miki soos logolooking for native plantsJoin us this Sunday, April 21st, from 4 to 6 p.m., Ken Parker, Native plants/landscaping specialist who runs the Seneca Nation’s “Food Is Our Medicine” Project,, will review and recommend possibilities for our Environmental Sanctuary.

Followed by potluck.

 Ken Parker, native plant specialist from Lockwood Greenhouses, met with us on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the RS Cottage to assess our place and talk with us about recommendations for native plantings.

Meet author Darcy Thiel (“Bitter and Sweet”)

miki soos logoThis Sunday, April 14th, Darcy Thiel, author of Bitter & Sweet: A Family’s Journey with Cancer, will be our speaker.

Her book was launched at Hospice Buffalo on March 16.

A note from June: Darcy spoke compellingly to our book group last week.  I think you will really enjoy meeting her and learning much from her.

We meet on Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. (+ potluck, as usual), at The Cottage, 3449 West River Road, Grand Island, New York.
